Americanism Essay Contest
The Americanism Essay Contest is for students enrolled in one of four divisions: I—5th grade; II—6th grade; III—7th grade; or IV—8th grade.
A theme for the essay is given, and the participant must complete their answer in 300 words or less. The Essay must be typed or printed legibly in ink. The Essay is then turned into your local Elks Lodge, which choices a first place winner, and advances the Essay to the District Level. An entry form must me turned in with the essay, identifying the participants name, grade, school and sponsoring Lodge.
Monetary awards may be given at each level to the first place winners, at the discretion of the Lodge, District, State or Regional Chairperson.
Plaques will be awarded by Grand Lodge for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for national winning essays in Divisions I, II, III, and IV. Monetary awards will be disbursed for each grade level for 1st Place—$1,000; 2nd Place—$500; and 3rd Place—$250. Winners will be announced at the Grand Lodge Session.
