Welcome to the Bellefonte Elks, Lodge #1094!

The Bellefonte Elks charter dates back to 1907.   The Elks acquired the Lodge, their home, in 1908.  This home was originally owned by Governor Andrew Curtin.  He was one of seven governors from Bellefonte.  Some say they have felt a presence and that Mr. Curtin might still be here watching over us!

The Bellefonte Elks is a fraternal organization, which has about 917 members.  All members are given a membership card and a key card for entry into the Lodge.  Your membership card can also serve as entry into any Elks Lodge, there are over 2,100 Lodges across the United States.

To become a member of any Lodge, a membership application will need to be completed.  You will need an Elk member in good standing to Propose you, and two Elks members in good standing to be your references.  There is a $10.00 application fee which is due when the application is turned into the Secretary of the Lodge.  There are two requirements to be an Elks member, you must be an American Citizen and believe in God. A background check will be completed.  The application will be read across the Lodge floor at a regular meeting, then voted on by the membership at the next meeting, and then the applicant will be Initiated at the third meeting.  Regular yearly dues and a $55.00 initiation fee due at Initiation.  The dues are prorated throughout the Lodge year, depending upon when you are initiated.  The Lodge year runs from April 1st to March 31st.
