250th American Parade – Bellefonte
The Bellefonte Elks participated in the 250th American Parade in Bellefonte on July 3rd. It was a hot one! The Bellefonte Elks PER Association sponsored the parade and featured Governor Andrew Curtin, member Janell Burger, and wife Katharine, member Michaele Yearick, in the parade. The Elks home is the former home of Governor Curtin, and he was one of five governors of Pennsylvania from Bellefonte. Driving the truck was member Greg Garner, and riding with him was PER John Rockey and Landyn Koch. Walkers and banner carriers, braving the heat, were PER Adam Rawding and PER Rick Zerby, along with members Lexi Buckley, Donald Townsend, Dorothy Neff and Steve and Amanda Koch. Lots of candy was passed out, along with popsicles, patriotic pin wheels, bracelets, squish balls and small Frisbees, and drug awareness water bottles, Frisbees, squish balls and bracelets. Thank you to everyone who donated candy and to all the volunteers who helped make the parade a success!
